Baby Update

10 Weeks

IMG_2028Week 10: Baby is the size of a kumquat walnut!

How far along: 10 weeks
Gender: no idea… but I feel like maybe a girl
Weight gain: not quite sure… according to my scale, I’ve lost weight
Symptoms: still some nausea, a couple of days of vomiting, still tired, still have a sore lower back, and still sore boobs
Maternity clothes: not yet
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: in
Sleep: totally fine..except for my middle-of-the-night potty trips
Best moment this week: Our first ultrasound! We got to see Baby moving, and we saw the heartbeat (173 bpm). So amazing! Baby Kiel measured 3.8cm long, so our due date got bumped up by a day: 16 Nov 2014 is our new due date!
Miss anything: not really
Movement: not yet
Cravings: nothing really… but I’ve discovered I can’t STAND the smell of coffee
Looking forward to: Announcing our baby news on Facebook in a couple of weeks 🙂
IMG_2030Look at our sweet baby! He or she was facing us for the ultrasound, so we had to try to move him/her to get a profile shot to properly measure the length. The doctor told me to just try to massage my lower belly, and it actually worked. I’m not sure why I was surprised… I just didn’t think the baby moved much at this point! I could have just watched our baby on the screen forever, it was such a wonderful experience.
My other big plan for the day (after our appointment) was to send some belated Easter messages to our extended family and close friends:
IMG_2023I had the Easter basket idea for weeks, and I was excited to use it! Even though it was almost a week after Easter, I still thought it would be a cute announcement.
IMG_2022Everyone is very excited for us! And now I’m even more excited to make our big announcement on Facebook. 🙂 Then I can complain about my pregnancy symptoms publicly, haha! Just kidding… I’m REALLY hopeful that my symptoms are going away by that point!
Baby Update · Holiday

9 Weeks

IMG_2017Week 9: Baby is the size of a grape!

How far along: 9 weeks
Gender: no idea & no “gut feeling” prediction
Weight gain: I don’t know… I ordered a scale online though 🙂
Symptoms: still some nausea, a couple of days of vomiting, still tired, still have a sore lower back, and still sore boobs
Maternity clothes: not yet
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: in
Sleep: totally fine..except for my middle-of-the-night potty trips
Best moment this week: finally letting Andrew’s grandparents know about the pregnancy 🙂
Miss anything: not really
Movement: not yet
Cravings: nothing really
Looking forward to: our first ultrasound… it’s not soon enough!
We had a low-key Easter at the end of Week 9. I was up late Saturday throwing up again, so I had low motivation for Sunday. I pretty much made Andrew handle dinner because I was just not feeling up to it. But here’s our Easter mantel:
IMG_2019Happy Easter, everyone!
Baby Update

8 Weeks

IMG_2015Week 8: Baby is the size of a raspberry! And apparently looking less like a reptile with a tail. 🙂 We’re moving in the right direction!

So here I am at “2 months” or so:

IMG_1971I don’t know if that’s a “bump” yet… I’m pretty sure that’s just me being bloated and catching up on eating after not eating enough during Week 7! But let’s just pretend that that’s all baby. 🙂

I’m going to plan on taking a photo of myself every 4 weeks (once a month-ish). This was my practice round… so I’m hoping the pictures look better in the future. And I’m hoping to get more creative with the white boards. I’m going to do my weekly updates with this handy thing I’ve seen on many other pregnancy blogs:

How far along: 8 weeks
Gender: no idea & no “gut feeling” prediction
Weight gain: I don’t know… I ordered a scale online though 🙂
Symptoms: still some nausea, a couple of days of vomiting, still tired, still have a sore lower back, and still sore boobs
Maternity clothes: I’ve ordered some and got some from my mom for my birthday, but not wearing any yet.
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: in
Sleep: totally fine… I’m always tired, so bedtime is a wonderful time for me
Best moment this week:seeing a friend of mine at the “new pregnancy” class at the hospital on base — we’re due less than a week apart!
Miss anything: not really… shockingly not even wine!
Movement: not yet
Cravings: nothing really… I’ve been sneaking snacks into my work day so I’ve started eating bagels & cream cheese mid-morning. And they are SO yummy! I forgot how much I love eating them.
Looking forward to: our first ultrasound… it’s not soon enough!
