I really envisioned myself as being one of those a-post-a-day bloggers, just to keep everyone updated on my life. Well, then life took over! Sometimes I just sit and really try to figure out where the hours in my days go, because there never seems to be enough time for everything I want to do.
So here I sit, thinking about what everyone needs to be updated on. And to be honest, I feel like life has been fairly normal! The week my friend Emily was here was a busy one, but then life just fell back into a normal routine again: wedding planning, crocheting, and doing housewife-y things.
Wedding Planning Update:
I’ll be honest: sometimes I think really mean thoughts about our upcoming wedding blessing. I truly don’t understand how people don’t get overwhelmed with the details. I remember reading something about how people deal with their finances. All the types of people were portrayed as birds. I was an ostrich. I opt to just stick my head in the sand and not deal with it. And that’s how I’ve treated the wedding planning certain days (and weeks): ignore the countdown, ignore the emails, ignore the whole thing. And then I’ll realize I’ve been ignoring everything, and I sit down and get a lot accomplished in one day. I am an odd bird. So I think things are probably coming together just fine, but the whole thing still just stresses me out!
Crocheting
April was stressful just because I knew I had the craft fair at the end of the month to prepare for. I was crocheting nonstop, but I wasn’t filling any orders. Needless to say, my profits for April were on the low end. The craft fair wasn’t as successful as I had hoped it would be. The lady at the table next to mine said she had done the same fair last year with the same products she was selling this year, and she had sold so much more last year. Apparently, the rainy, chilly weather we had didn’t help much. I did make a profit, so I can’t complain too much, but not filling orders for a whole month hurt me. Live and learn: from now on I’ll try to sneak in making new items between orders so I don’t have to devote a whole month to a craft fair again!
Housewife-y Things
I think our house was neglected almost as much as this blog! Cleaning fell pretty low on my priority list last month. I mean, I did enough to keep things decent: stay on top of the laundry, wash dishes daily, and occasionally sweep the floors. But my dedication to my chore chart was seriously lacking. I generally realize I’ve been behind on cleaning when Andrew starts doing it. One thing he is in charge of is cleaning the shower/tub, because I despise doing that (I honestly don’t know why). Well, when he did that last weekend, he ended up cleaning the whole bathroom. And I had to stop and think about when I had cleaned it last (gross, I know).
But May is a new month! Time to get those wedding details ironed out, start filling NK Crochet orders again, and get the house looking good again! And hopefully spend a little more time updating my blog. 🙂
